50 Shades of Green I absolutely love planning themed parties especially when my clients want to go “all out”! This particular event stands out because my client valued and understood the necessity of (1) and Event Planner and (2) proper planning and budgeting. The event was themed “50 Shades of Green” because it was her favorite color and she was turning 50. We played on that theme throughout the evening. The vision began at the venue entry with green carpet and ropes and led to the main entrance with draping and green up-lighting, green and white centerpieces – the ambiance even filtered down to the signature drinks and green bowties for the servers and bartenders. Everything including the dessert and candy tables were planned to perfection (if I may say so myself).

The guests arrived and were in awe as they danced the night away beginning with a DeeJay who kicked off the party with hand-dancing tunes, followed by a full band (Secret Society), with the finale of a second DeeJay who spinned all of the R&B and Go-Go tunes ever recorded. (Note: Go-Go music is a local genre of music known to people in the DC area so let’s just say it holds up to its name and keeps the party going!)

One of the most important details involved the seating chart. Managing the seating assignments for over 300 attendees would have been overwhelming without using AllSeated.com. The AllSeated software was a true life-savor! With this software (which has become my saving grace), we were able to draft the floor plan, view it in 3-D, and share it with the team so that everyone knew exactly what the set-up would be. I frequently use this software because it helps me to manage the day-of event execution flawlessly!

So why does this matter? Chique Wind Up… This event was a great example of why proper planning matters! Paying attention to all details down to the seating chart plays a critical role for a successful event.
